Our primary aim is to ensure that traditional principles and practices of drawing and painting from life may remain a vital art form in a contemporary culture. New England Realist Art Center offers workshops and ongoing figure and still life classes from our Boston studio. All classes are observation-based and have the study of nature at its core. We examine long-held artistic principles and how best to apply these principles while working from the life model or still life arrangement. Weeknight and Weekend Figure Classes. These figure classes offer a very unique hands-on approach designed to pass on all the best studio practices of past masters. Weeknight Still Life Classes: this 10 week class will enable students to study drapery and objects as well as the light effects of different materials and textures.
